Returns & Repairs
Returns and exchanges
This is the policy for all items purchased from Porter Gulch directly:
If you’d like to return a design, write me an email requesting the return within 7 days of receiving the item. Please note I do not offer returns or exchanges on custom orders, final sale items, items that have been resized, or orders where I purchased a stone specifically for your design (as noted on the product page).
If you’d like to exchange your item for something different, follow the return process and include in your email the item you’d like to exchange it for.
There is a 15% restocking fee on all returns and exchanges.
When sending jewelry back, my clients are responsible for shipping costs and making sure the jewelry arrives in the same condition that it was in when received. To make exchanges as stress-free as possible (for both of us), I highly recommend using insured methods of transportation, like UPS or FedEX, to make sure your item arrives to me in perfect condition and I can restock it. Porter Gulch is not responsible for damage in transit or for lost packages, so please insure the package and request a signature for delivery.
In the event that your Porter Gulch jewelry requires repair, I will happily do so for you. Repairs take about 2 weeks to complete. If you send your item to me, I ask that you pay for shipping both ways. My cost for repairs varies depending on the work needed. Contact me for a quote.
If you are not local to the Bay Area, many repairs can be performed by a local jeweler, if that’s more convenient for you.
I offer one complimentary ring resizing for engagement rings. Otherwise, basic ring resizing costs start at:
- $25 for sterling silver rings
- $35 for 14-karat gold rings
- $40 for 18-karat gold rings
It’s my policy to have my clients be responsible for shipping costs both ways.
Please note that eternity bands (where the stones go all the way around the ring) cannot always be resized. If you need help determining a size for an eternity band or any ring, just email me and I’ll send you a finger sizer.
